Loose Weight with Water

The study on “ Water Consumption Increases Weight Loss during a Hypo-caloric Diet Intervention in Middle-aged and Older Adults” tested the hypothesis that pre-meal water consumption would lead to greater weight loss in older overweight and obese individuals consuming a hypo-caloric diet.

The result of the study indicate that when combined with a hypo-caloric diet, consuming 500ml of water prior to each of the three main daily meals leads to 2 kg greater weight loss over 12 weeks as compared to a hypo-caloric diet alone.

A study conducted by the Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute also studied the effect of water and weight loss. The researchers conducting this study found that those who drank more water had more success in losing weight and maintain the loss than those who did not drink more water.
