Magnesium used to treat depression.
The study states,
“We have shown efficacy, as have others, in treating depression and some related mental disorders with magnesium. We suggest that magnesium treatment will be found effective in future clinical trials, at least to an extent equivalent to antidepressant drugs, and perhaps more effective.”
The report supports the, “Hypothesis that magnesium is therapeutic for depression and related to mental disorders.” Nonetheless, “It is effectively illegal to market nutrients to treat, cure and prevent diseases in the United States.”
As research continues to support the use of magnesium as a treatment for depression it will be unjustifiable for the naysayers to deny the effects magnesium has on mental disorders such as depression. The future of magnesium as an alternative to pharmaceuticals for treatment of depression is bright. It is always refreshing to find studies supporting natural remedies as a treatment instead of pharmaceutical drugs.
This study is one of many showing the effects and the importance magnesium has on the human body. Magnesium can be found in foods, supplements and the easiest of them all, alkaline mineral water. Hydrating with alkaline mineral water will not only replenish the body but will help you get the nutrients you need, such as magnesium, to maintain a balanced life.

Bottled water, not the answer
Every second of every day, 1,000 people
consume a bottled of plastic water. The United States is the largest consumer
of bottled water, consuming more than 30 Billion bottles a year. Thursday, September 8, 2011

Pharmaceuticals in drinking water
The most common pharmaceuticals detected in urban wastewater are anti-inflammatory drugs, anticonvulsants, antibiotics and lipid regulators. Due to the large numbers of drugs consumed throughout the world, their complex chemical structures pose a potential health hazard via the consumption of drinking water. There is a growing interest in understanding the fate of pharmaceuticals and EDCs during drinking water treatment.
Recent studies have shown reverse osmosis and adsorption on granular and powered activated carbon are effective methods for removing pharmaceuticals, personal care products and endocine disrupting compounds. However there can be a downside to using Reverse osmosis filtration systems, as many reverse osmosis systems on the market produce acidic, de-mineralized water also known as dead water. A reverse osmosis system that re-mineralizes and alkalizes the water is the perfect partnership of filtration and healthy water. Re-mineralizing Reverse osmosis Systems and Activated Carbon filtration systems are great for creating clean, healthy water!

Loose Weight with Water
The study on “ Water Consumption Increases Weight Loss during a Hypo-caloric Diet Intervention in Middle-aged and Older Adults” tested the hypothesis that pre-meal water consumption would lead to greater weight loss in older overweight and obese individuals consuming a hypo-caloric diet.
The result of the study indicate that when combined with a hypo-caloric diet, consuming 500ml of water prior to each of the three main daily meals leads to 2 kg greater weight loss over 12 weeks as compared to a hypo-caloric diet alone.
A study conducted by the Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute also studied the effect of water and weight loss. The researchers conducting this study found that those who drank more water had more success in losing weight and maintain the loss than those who did not drink more water.
Water is important for weight-loss, hydration and over all health. Drinking clean water is also just as important as water is the fluid that energizes your body. Clean, mineralized and alkaline water is essential and can be very affordable with a gravity water system. Make your own healthy and clean water right in your own home.
